I Am Not A Nerd

Really. I swear. If you knew me you'd know this.

Not that bloggers are nerds. But, you know.

But Julie and I did happen to be at Jackson's on Wednesday night for dinner. And there was a blogger party going on, hosted by the folks at Thursday Night Fever and WKRN News 2. (I'm still not over the comedy of the invite - think Short Circuit). Though quite happenin', we didn't really want to be a part of the VIP patio party. We just wanted to meet the Mr. Roboto, because he's pissed me off ever since I accidentally ran across one of his comments (you'll have to scroll down to the Pure @ XYZ article and read - it didn't have it's own link) about Nashville girls vs. Memphis girls on The Memphis Scene when I did a Google search for the now closed XYZ in Memphis back in December. (Hello, run-on sentence.)

We almost bailed because we are so not computer people. Didn't want to talk html all night. But we couldn't leave until we faced our antagonist. So as the party dissipated, we swallowed our pride and the introductions took place. Now known as the She Said What ladies, it turned out that we didn't even have to go to the party. The party came to us.

Before we knew it, we were surrounded by Nashville bloggers, a Memphis blogger, and a News Channel 2 blogger. The conversation focused mainly on us harassing Mr. Roboto the whole time. He took it well, though, as we assured him it was all in good fun. Our new name for him is Rumplestiltskin, since apparently no one knows his real name*.
Also chatted with sweet Blake who happened to know Julie from back in the day (and is going to pimp out my blog) and the mysterious Captain T who we all know and love. We also had the pleasure of reenacting the photo shoot for the invite with my martini glasses. And to think we almost dodged the entire thing. Shameful.

Congratulations to the man behind the tux and his Thursday Night Fever regime, who co-sponsored the event. Surprisingly, it turned out to be quite a success with News 2 coverage and all. First. Fast. Accurate. (Next time have it on a Thursday, though. Marketing, hello?)

*That's right...the 007 sneaky mcsneakster in me obtained his real name within the first two minutes of the evening. And now he claims he will do anything to keep me quiet. Oh, Roboto. I will be holding you to it.

You know, it would have been shameful if you guys dodged the event. We didn't even talk about html that much either.

Now we are eagerly awaiting Julie's first post.

Are you a nerd if you color code your closet and label your shoes in the boxes they came in?

Just wondering, because then I know someone who is a nerd supreme, but is in denial about it.
