And Now Featuring...
The Features. A blend of indie, pop, and disco rock sounds, these guys are my newest obsession. (Buy the CD. It rules, just like the show.)
Saturday night, Exit/In. A sold out show, however, not a problem. One of the owners let us in on their guest list. I was completely shocked that someone would do something nice for no reason. I mean, who does that anymore? Totally made my night.
We ran into like 8,000 people that we knew. Fun times, I tell you. The guys played forever and put on such a high energy show it left anyone who is halfway cool wanting more. Even Seth Timbs from Nashville's own Fluid Ounces stepped in and played a little ditty on the keys. (Seth, you da man!).
An hour or so into the show, they blew the PA, because they were just that bad ass. Mics only, though. Per everyone's request, they kept on playing. I've never seen such dedicated fans...they were singing every word to every song. And these were rock people. And rock people don't sing songs at a show. It was just so Nashville.
*****
Just in...The Features are playing at the midtown festival in Atlanta, June 11, with the likes of The White Stripes, The Pixies, Bloc Party, and The Killers. All of which are amazing bands (except for The Killers, but they get points for cheesiness). Until then, they are making the rounds in Europe with several dates in the UK and Netherlands. Check it!

I don't know any of these bands, but that '0 comments' looked so lonely.
Can you post something about Barry Manilow?

see, I didn't think it was at all "Nashville" that people were singing along. There are always exceptions to that rule, like at a Ben Folds show. But it's rare to see 1) such a huge crowd these days and 2) 97% of that crowd knowing all the words.

What's wrong with The Killers? It's good to be cheesy!
