Ligers & Wholphins
I've been holding off on doing a liger post for a while now. I didn't want to appear too ironic or anything. But I've had the obsession for a couple of months now, since the time I first watched Napolean Dynamite that I so eloquently recapped for you back in early March. When I found out there really is such a thing as a liger, I was even more excited. (I even have a liger wristband.) It's less about the science of the beast and more about the comedy, but check this out cuz it's actually pretty interesting.
In the midst of all the liger business, it seemed appropriate when a dear friend of mine who works in the publishing industry sent me some breaking news while searching the wire. Apparently ligers and tigons aren't the only famous cross-breeds out there. We now have the wholphin, a cross between a false killer whale and a bottlenose dolphin.
As if there aren't already enough species out there. How would Noah feel about all this?
Hobbs. Pretty much one of my favorite animals.
