Party @ The Basement
Wow. I hate to even post now that the beast has awoken. I need to let her bask in the glory as long as it will last. Who knows when there will be another sighting? (Of the co-blogger, not Newton.)
Speaking of, apparently the place to be this coming Monday, April 25th, is The Basement. She Said What's Fan of the Week, Newton Dominey, will be opening up for Strays Don't Sleep featuring Neilson Hubbard and Matthew Ryan. Show starts at 9p and it looks like the SSW girls may be making a public appearance. Blake sounds like he's in, too. Anyone else?
I know, it's a Monday night. We all have to get up at the crack of dawn to go slave away. But just for a beer or two? Might be fun.

Strays Don't Sleep is playing tonight at BB King's High Fidelity Room as part of a weekly series American Songwriter Magazine has going.
Jeff Black plays at 8:30
Strays Don't Sleep plays at 9:30
Not sure if I'll be there, but who knows...I'm thinking about it. I'm playing percussion for somebody over at the French Quarter Cafe at 8, but I may leave afterwards to make it to BB Kings.

Oh yeah...David Mead is also going to be at that Basement show on Monday the 25th along with Jeremy Lister.
It's shaping up to be a good show.

trying this again since it shows in one window but not the other:
blake's right about the addition of david mead to monday's lineup. a great show just turned into a must-see. according to neilson, the time frame hasn't changed, just moved to later. if i hear differently i'll put it on my website and my blog.

E-Ville: It's about as shady as any other bar with a stage that singer/songwriters frequent around town. But really, it's not that bad. Of course, I haven't been there when the real "honky-tonkers" have been playing.
