The Art of Bluegrass, Indie Style
So if you don't have anything better to do tonight (or even if you do), stop by the Station Inn and check out Nashville's own Adrienne Young & Little Sadie at her Nashville Record Release Party for The Art Of Virtue, at 9p. She's got a great bluegrass, folky, Americana sound and she's good. Damn good. The Art Of Virtue is a follow-up to her 2003 independent debut, Plow to the End of the Row, which also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Packaging of a Recorded Product.
Like Virginia's King Wilkie, it's not quite the traditional sound, but indie bluegrass, if you will. So, if you haven't already, expand your horizons and get you some of these banjo pickin', toe-tappin' tunes. No yee-haws, woo-hoo's, or ride 'em cowboys necessary.
They're just that cool.

Have fun!! Adrienne's also a super nice girl who used to bring us fresh flowers everytime she came by to record a commercial cut for her cd.

Yes...she is very sweet. I actually had a class or two with her at Belmont back in the day. She rocks.

I'll be there tonight!! Ok, so not really since I live thousands and thousands of miles away from you, but you know I'd be there if I lived there. I'm always up for a fun-filled nite!

I would have gone, but I heard that there wasn't going to be a repeat performance from the Crazy Clogger. Dangit!

Went to the show and partied with my parents. Fun times. Saw the sis's and about a billion other people I know.
Adrienne was AWESOME and the new album is just as killer as the other. I tell ya, this girl moves me every freakin' time. The whole fam got up and did a couple of old hymns, acapella. They're just so damn real. Loved it.
