Cheers

So this weekend, in between my incessant drunkeness, I gave myself lots of me time. Bliss. To me, there's nothing better than a drive down some random country road on a sunny day, or the Natchez Trace, drinking a good cold beverage and jammin' to some tunes. Sometimes I even treat myself to a Moon Pie. It had been a while, so I decided to really go all out on my thirst quencher of choice. Wanted something different. Wanted something fresh. And damn, had I forgotten how freakin' rad Cheerwine is. Dude, I don't even know what flavor it is, but it's taaasty. The only thing I needed was Keith Urban sitting next to me singing Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me and my day would have been complete. But all I had with me was the new Frank Black record, Honeycomb. And it rules. Listen up for some new Americana flavour. Yeah, Frank Black and Americana. Dig.

My hubby discovered a gas station in Franklin that sold Faygo and we went there almost every weekend for his Michigan Faygo fix. I, of course, had never heard of it just as he had never heard of Nehi Peach soda. Yum. I'm sad though that the Cabana Boy was missing, we must share some of that with ciaobelle, she'll love it.

Ain't no way that Faygo has got anything on SunDrop! That is made with good 'ole southern goodness. I would rather drink Big K or Cheerwine than some damn old Faygo. Oh and by the way it is all Coke there is no such thing as POP!!!!

Wow, Cheerwine. I figured Cheerwine was extinct by now. I had completely forgotten about it and haven't seen it in probably 10+ years.

All this POP talk is making me thirsty in the 115 degree heat over here. What about Vernors...Ah, another Michigan treat! Hey Elvisgirl, are you going to share the Cabana boy with me or the pop? heehee

I almost bought you guys a bunch of Cabana Boy when I saw it on sale at the ghetto liquor store. You'd need a barf receptacle after drinking it.

Cheerwine is awesome. But nothing beats RC in a bottle. Forget the moon pies. You need to go to Jimmy Deans with MC because they'll cash a check since they know her mom and pick up some Twizzlers and cap guns. Then we'll all go down to the back nine and ride bikes til we get too hot, and then it's Categories time in the deep end.

I don't think I've ever had Cheerwine. I've had Sundrop, but it's not available where I am now. I used to drink it when I was kid and would visit my grnadparents who lived way down in Southern Illinois. They also had Faygo there and RC Cola, as well. I also remember drinking Bubble Up. I wonder if they still make that?

    Gee, those were the days.

PS--I love me some Moon Pies!

Sundrop is another fave of mine. Actually, that's my nickname for the Marine brother of Jag from I'm About To Be Brilliant. From back in his little league days. Awwwww.

Yeah...alot of these things are regional. For instance, when I leave the South, I will have no more Cheerwine. A newly rediscovered treasure...ripped away.

Good God, JP. Could you be a little more dramatic? Sheesh! I'll send you care packages of Jack Daniel's and Sun Drop so you can make ghetto Lynchburg Lemonade and think of the G's.

Lucky girl. She's already slated to receive a care package and hasn't even left the state yet.

You are all obsessed with cokes. Ciaobelle, I'll share both with you. If I can still find some Nehi Peach. The cabana boy is good no matter what JAG says. Taste like shirley temples. Does anyone remember Jolt Cola with 4 times the caffiene of regular coke? HAHA that'll wake you up on a slow day.
