Curin' Those Summertime Blues

Gone are the days when you knew it was summer not by the nasty, hot humidity, but by that lighthearted, happy feeling that you just can't escape. Like a kid out for summer vacation, even though I haven't had one in about ten years, I managed to relive that feeling year after year until now. Five years working for the man and the giddyness has now officially been sucked away from me. I hope it's not for good.

My month of June was completely dedicated to going to weddings, bridal showers, working late hours, and moving, moving, moving. No time for me, no time for fun. Heck, no time to even blog. So I decided to start July off the way it should be. I left work early so I could go to my fave spa for a massage. That was nice, but ended too quickly, so I went in to get a manicure and a pedicure at my new fave nail salon. Way swank. Dig it. If you live in Nashville, go there.

The evening brought me Mexican food, margaritas, fun times with my old friend/new cousin-in-law, and some alien action. Went to see War of the Worlds, Tom's latest movie. It was good...had the classic old school vibe to it, which is the only way it got away with being good and not cheesy. Definitely suspenseful, but I'm still not recovered from the late 90's bombardment of little green men. Although there is a part where he whips a PB&J sandwich across the room, which I think was my favorite part. I have this thing...the whipping of food is absolutely hilarious to me.

Anyway, I have about 8,000 things to write about, it's just a matter of finding computer time, since I'm now sharing with four other people. But I'm recovered now, so stay tuned.

When I think of curing the summertime blues I think of long walks on the golf course, night or day. I think of being on the lake, drinking. I also think of being by the pool, playing greenriver.

I too enjoyed the PB sandwich whip.

Some of my other personal favorite whips that I know Jill shares with me include: the pickle, the stool, the dude, the litter, the blizzard, and the green noodle.

If anyone reads this who hasn't seen War of the Worlds, sorry. I can see ciaobella sitting there laughing hysterically just like Jill did when the peanut butter hit the window. I didn't think she'd get over it. I blame Steven Speilberg for focusing on it for so long. It was hilarious though. Did you see the alien thing poop? Unfortunately it made us both giggle like 5th graders for a good minute or two. I needed that, it helped with the intense moment. Our movie friends were rolling their eyes. Hee hee!
