I Never Went To Med School
Nor do I have any interest in watching those gory surgery shows on the tube. But for some reason when someone gashes their head open and needs stitches, I've been the only emergency nurse girl around. I've gotten good practice, too, as it's happened three times in my recent past. Once while canoeing on the Harpeth River, once on a dark, stormy night in the Germantown parts of Columbus, Ohio, and now on a boat, in the middle of Percy Priest Lake. The good news is...the first two victims came out with barely noticeable scars, thanks to Lexus first aid kits, random pieces of clothing (good for tying around wound) and my suturing up with adhesive butterfly closure bandages. The third culprit was being stubborn and decided to wakeboard for the rest of the day, in between wound repair procedures, so we have yet to see the results.
Aside from the boat-trailer-headwound accident, Julie and I spent the majority of Saturday relaxing on the boat with our new friends; Crash and Frank the Tank. It was perfectly sunny, ridiculously muggy, and I enjoyed every minute of it. By late afternoon, once the water calmed down a bit, we tubed and wakeboarded till the sun went down.
I hadn't tubed duo-style in years so I wondered how well it would go over. There were a couple of jaw and chest wounds but ultimately we came out alive and had an absolute blast. I think the most catastrophic part of the whole situation was the loosing of our bikini bottoms on the fall as we flew about ten feet through the air before somersaulting into the depths below. Luckily, we were able to retrieve them...quickly and discreetly.
Wakeboarding...it's the new drug. I had never done it before and am now hopelessly addicted. I couldn't stop. As a result, I've felt like a quadriplegic for the past two days. Every single muscle in my body is so sore I feel like an old lady just getting around the office. So worth it, though. More, more, more!

I only tried waterskiing or boarding once two or three years ago, and I'm STILL sore. Glad you had a good time...

Fortunately I had a bit of experience under my belt...goes back to age six when Ciaobella and I were bustin' up waves up in Chicago. Ha! Just thought of that...she had these skis just our size that we learned on. Crazy!

Although that doesn't help me much when I go once every two years. I just got up from my desk, forgot that I was hurting, and about toppled over from the pain.

Posts about water sports are better if you include pictures of yourself performing those water sports.
In a bikini.

When I lived in California, it was all about surfing--I practically grew up on the beach. It's such a rush, isn't it?! I'm glad you had such a fabbo weekend!

Ah, those were the days. Whether it was Chi-town, Virginia Beach, or Nags Head, we tore up the shoreline! Maybe we should have gone into professional boogie boarding...I'm hopeful it will become an Olympic Sport.
P.S. Roboto, if you get to see Jill wakeboarding in a bikini, then we get to see you mini-golfing in a thong. ;o)

Stitches and water sports go hand in hand. if you through some alchohal in the mix then all is good. Are you a nurse, because I love nurses!!

Time for a SSW-TNF boat trip. Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

We're going on a week vacation to the Northwoods and you're nursing skills could probably come in handy. I'll let you know when we return. ~B. Rocker

You provide the boat, the Coronas, and the water toys and we'll be there.

I recommend the use of noodles - for both the SSW-TNF boat trip and the Mr. Roboto thong mini-golf game.

Jill, let's not forget, if we are to move forward with this boat trip, Roboto must also incur the cost of my plane ticket from Phoenix to Nashville :o)
I think we'll be able to fit the boat trip and Roboto thong mini-golf game in one weekend.

I agree that we should do the boat trip as soon as possible, and the mini golf stuff on the next, later trip. I'm thinking a one way ticket to Nashville can't be that expensive.

Yeah, JAG, that ciaobella's got it bad for me. I'm lucky I never did my Roboto dance for her, else I'd have a certified stalker.

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.
