On Holiday
In Phoenix. And now that my laptop has crashed and burned, even with a new motherboard, I'm going to put the Internet away for the remainder of the weekend so I can relax for once.
In the meantime, if anyone has a quick and easy (and inexpensive) way to back up iTunes without using forty CD's, I'd love to know. Before I lose it all.
I took my computer in with a hardware problem. It came back to me with a software problem. My warranty is out. My iTunes is not backed up. What the hell?
Fine time for this all to be happening. A fine time, indeed.

Find someone with a USB DVD writer. You'll still have to split it up, but it will be more like 2-5 DVDs rather than 40 CDs.
If you have two computers on a home network, you can share the folder containing iTunes files, mount it on another computer, and copy all files across the network.
Then relax and grab some frothy beverages while waiting for the files to copy.

I can't guarantee she found someone with a USB DVD writer, but I did give her some frothy beverages to help her relax....

I can guarantee that she did not relax, even with the frothy beverages! Messing with her music is like messing with her first born child. (if she had one!)

screw the dvds. buy a firewire hard drive. you're already in for this much money, just get the drive and move all the files over. then...use the drive as your backup so when you blow the next one up with all your blogging, you don't lose your white stripes and shins.
call if you needs more helps.
(smacks forehead for giving advice that he's not taking...)
