It Was 25 Years Ago Today...
...that John Winston Ono Lennon was murdered in the entrance way of his home at the Dakota Hotel in New York City. By a crazed fan who claims to this day that he was only killing an imposter. He and Yoko were on their way home from wrapping up the recording of the new record, Double Fantasy. John's first in five years and ironically the most widely received album he had done. Earlier that day he had signed an autograph for his killer. Mark David Chapman. Bastard.
If you're in Nashville and want to catch the tribute, Imagine No Hand Guns, this guy can be seen playing the two best Beatles' songs ever. At least I think they are.

...bliss the moment arrived
Apparition, four brown English
jacket christhair boys
Goofed Ringo battling bright
white drums
Silent George hair patient
Soul horse
Short black-skulled Paul
wit thing guitar
Lennon, the captain, his mouth
a triangular smile,
all jump together to End
some tearful memory song
ancient two years

We love you, John.

I don't think that the John Lennon would have made much of a difference in this world. True he was a great musician and a very talented song writer but I here all of these people talking about how he was a great philosopher and would have changed the world. That is a bunch of crap really! I am not knocking his efforts or sincerity (even though I know I would not agree with his liberal political banter) but hwen it comes down to it he was just a musician. To put him inthe same class as JFK, Nelson Mandella, Ronald Reagan, Don King, Regis Philbin, or Stone Cold Steve Austin, you know people that made a real difference, is a stretch. People thought that Michael Jackson could change the world and the only thing he ended up changing was some Underoos!
On another note, I know John Lennon would champion free speech which it seems that Jill does selectively sometimes. This is my second post on this John Lennon article and apparently the first one did not make the cut. So if this gets read before Jill tries to censor me again then enjoy. However if Jill deletes me, then you should boycott her. Wow, I am starting a movement, I think John has inspired me!

Pay no attention to this blonde bomber. He's had a crush on me since the 8th grade bus rides and hasn't quite gotten over it yet.
This is his sick way of trying to prove himself to me.
Sorry, Tommy. I'm a California girl now.

sheesh. show up for the blog, stay for the soap opera.
really, though, i don't care what you say about lennon, but he's a better comparison to mlk and mandela than ronald f'ing reagan. digging on jelly beans does not a philanthropist make.

Obviously the Stone Cold and Don King were jokes but if Newton were to take his lefty blinders off he would see that Ronald was a great president. Not much to argue on that one because it is basically historical fact. Again Lennon was a good musician, my point is to keep it in perspective. After all he did not defeat the Evil Empire like a certain president did. Enjoy your cookie Newt.
As for you Jill, I do believe it is also historical fact that you had the crush on me in 8th grade! I think Jag can back me up on this one.

Hmmmm...never had a crush on Denise Danner. Just a certain blonde that lived down the street. I hear he's an a$$hole these days...doesn't know when to drop things.

and for the last.f'ing.time.
it's newton, not newt.

I have to take the Danner's side on part of this. Not arguing right/left or 8th grade crushes, but this is more or less a public forum and and it is his right to debate the points made in the post. At least he's not telling you to delete your post because he disagrees with it, like the j-hole Blake had to deal with. Did a comment really get deleted? I'm curious about that.
Personally, I think Ronald Reagan did a lot of great things, as did John Lennon. I don't know if the two are comparable in the way Dry Weave is making it out to be, but Lennon certainly reached a lot of people and brought those same people together in a way that a President can't. His words continue to represent a timeless ideal, and there is a lot to be said about that.

Why does a freakin' side have to be taken? Like, who the f*ck cares? He died. I was paying him respect. The end.
And yes, it was removed. Why? Because I don't like when someone is being an asshole for the sake of being an asshole. An immature one at that.

Whoa, look what I just walked into. I smell pooh.
Blondie needs to admit it; he has a crush on me. He drove all the way out here last night just to peep in my windows and serenate me with John Lennon songs. What a sweetie.

Ciaobella, wait until I start playing you some Metalica, then you will get to know the meaning of seranading. Just ask your cuz or jag on that, trust me it worked on both of them! It almost led to Jill and I being locked together until the dental surgeon came to seperate us.
Let us lay this dispute to rest. Jill as much as you don't like it Jag is right. (Right now Jill is making that face that says "whatever!") People change the world in different ways and it does not always by making all people agree. For example I think Ronald Reagan changed the world for the better and stand by that, but others do not see the same way. The point that I was trying to make is that they are allowed to have a different opinion and express it. That is what this country and freedom is based on. That is what John Lennon expressed. Keep it in perspective, John Lennon was a musician. he brought people together through music, he did not make sweeping social or political changes. Give him the credit he deserves but don't inflate it. I think Newt and I could actually agree on this. Jill, I have always loved to push your buttons, how do you think we have been able to get along for so long
