The Weekend Update
After a long holiday weekend of fun times, amazing food, and some Melrose shopping (a fab jacket and a great new purse!), I managed to come down with some sort of sickness to ruin my four day work week. Turned it into a three day work week. But I really was sick. And that's no fun playing hooky to.
Last night, Jared and I went to check out Nashville's very own Luna Halo at The Viper Room on Sunset. It was a pretty fab show but oddly enough, it made me miss my sister. She's practically joined at the hip with the guys in the band so it just felt like she needed to be there. Thank God for text messaging. Heh. She was there in spirit, for sure.
Tonight I'm fortunate enough to have dinner with the one and only Newton and the B.W.E. (hey...not a bad band name...haha) The poor things have a night layover at LAX on their way to Hawaii. On the man's dime, I think. Nice.
In other news, I just realized that not only am I missing SXSW for another year in a row...but I'm also missing Coachella (hello, check out the line-up), which is RIGHT F'ING HERE, because I have to go be in a wedding for this girl. Am I a bad planner? Or is my life too full? I'm pissed.
Hollywood is wonderful, I'll tell you that much. Not because of the glitz and glamour. I spend more of my time in little hole in the wall bars than the clubs. It just feels like home to me, that's all. Life is great, I can't complain.
The new gig is awesome and the new man is even better. Yeah, the new man. Can I brag for just one second? He's awesome. AWESOME. And I could write a whole separate blog on that subject. But due to time constraints and privacy notices, that won't be happening any time soon. So you'll just have to take my word for it. I heart him.
One day, I just might tell you the story. It's super duper uber serendipitous!! Or maybe I'll wait and you'll have to buy it off the shelf, intertwined in my novel. One or the other. Or both. We'll see.

Sounds like you're having a great time in LA!
Last year I swore I'd make it to SXSW this year. Go figure, it's impossible yet another year for me to make it.
