Gypsy Girl On The Move

One year ago this Sunday marks the day I left Nashville for this crazy place I now call home. Time FLIES. Seriously. Where does it all go? Seems like just yesterday I was making my way through Memphis, Little Rock, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Phoenix...all the way to my little 60's apartment right off of Melrose and Fairfax.

Ironically, this weekend I will be packing up (again) and putting my stuff in storage (again) to move to another location (again). This time I'm only moving myself 5 miles away rather than 2,000 so it's not quite so bad. I'll be staying with the man for a few weeks before I move in to my new 70's, swank bachelorette pad. Everything in the unit brand spankin' newly remodeled. My first place of my OWN. No roommate. My decor. I cannot freakin' WAIT.

So from Hollywood to Los Feliz, the gypsy that remains faces freedom with a little fear. I'll be less than a mile from my knight's place, just a Griffith Park ride away (at 88mph, if time travel is needed) from work (no traffic, no traffic, NO TRAFFIC!!!), and right smack dab in the center of a little historic, artsy, creative, vibey village. This gypsy girl will be a very, very happy one. Yes, siree Bob. If you live in Nashville, think 12th Avenue South neighborhood area...but way cooler.

Still close to the East side of Hollywood and all my favorite Hollywood bars, now I'll be sporting some new neighborhood watering holes, some of which you may have heard of...The Dresden, where the infamous Marty & Elayne serenade the crowd...The Good Luck Bar, a chinese lounge dimly lit with red paper laterns...The Derby, famous long before Swingers was filmed there...The Drawing Room, a nice little dive bar and Fred62, a fusion styled diner that serves Stella. So if you ever get bored with your social situation, just come visit me.
