Bringing Sexy Festive Back

Call me a rebel, but I've always been the antithesis of festive. Maybe not always, but definitely for the majority of my teen years/adulthood. I wouldn't call myself a scrooge, but I've always hated jumping on the bandwagon. I do have a healthy supply of Christmas tree ornaments...but they are all modernly themed and don't contain the traditional colors of the season. However, I had to leave all that back on the East side because there's no extra storage in these Western parts.

At any rate, this year something has happened. I'm not quite sure what, but I've found myself jamming out to Christmas Carols (my 2004 mix, of course), getting a warm fuzzy feeling when I drive by Christmas lights (even if they are wrapped around palm trees) and actually enjoying wrapping gifts (that never happens due to my OCD issues).

Even technologically I've geeked out. I've themed my AIM window to have coordinating holiday text and icon. I put up a snowy background on my desktop at work. And yes...I'm not too ashamed to admit it...I've even holiday-themed my MySpace page.

I'm definitely excited to go to the Arctic Tundra (aka Michigan) to see the fam this year. I'm actually praying for snow so I can go sledding and hiking and maybe even build a snowman. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am so far away and miss them. Or maybe it's because I miss the change of the seasons. Whatever it is, it's got me all a-flutter.

The added bonus this year is that there's a big road trip involved. The Detroit to Nashville jaunt that I could do with my eyes closed. Yes, that's right folks...Nashville, here I come! Only this time, there will be a massive New Years Party...with the boyfriend and I as your hosts. So...if you'll be in Nashville for the holiday and you'd like to come but haven't received the Evite, shoot me an email and we'll get it taken care of.

And remember, festive is in. Festive is hot. So go be festive with your bad selves.

Until then, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
