The Great Outdoors

So after hanging in the Detroit area for a day or so, I'm about to hop in the car with dad to head up North. Far up North. In the upper, lower peninsula of Michigan to be exact. My favorite past time as a kid. We'd go up there on family vacations and go camping, fishing, horseback riding, boating, hiking and whatever else we could find.

As I've grown older, those times have become a rarity. And now that my family has been transferred back up to the mitten state and I'm going to be making some big changes myself, it's time to spend a little time at the little cottage on the little lake out in the middle of the wilderness that has become a permanent piece of me. No cell phone signals and only dial-up. A little R & R, if you will. Despite my love for the big city, I've got to satisfy the nature girl within from time to time.

If I remember how to hack into the dial-up, you might get to hear a bit about the adventure. My mission is to get some bear pictures. Or at least some good nature shots. And I have a digital camera this time. Happy Thursday.

And now, a quote from The Great Outdoors:

Bartender: He's been struck by lightning... how many times has it been now, Reg?
    Reg: S-s-s-s-s-s-s-six...
    Chet: Six times?
Reg: S-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-six-sixty-sixty-six times. In-n-n-n-n-n-n-In-n-n-n-n-n-n-In-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n the head!
