Headed To Hollywood
(c) 2005 She Said Pictures
Based on the answer to my question in the previous post, there you have it. I put in my notice at work yesterday and then I'll be home free. The last week in September is my drive date and as of October 1st I'll be a Californian. Ten years I've wanted to do this. Ten years. Now is the time.
I hope you'll keep reading. It's only going to get better from here. I plan on writing along the same lines, with crazier stories, I'm sure. Hollywood does that to me. So just because I won't be living in Nashville anymore doesn't mean you can start ignoring me. I'm going to need the love!
And no worries, this isn't going to turn into a celebrity blog, by any means. That is, unless I end up going out with Orlando Bloom or Matthew McConaughey. Things of that sort. Then there might be some celebrity talk. Otherwise I'm keeping it of the "underground Hollywood" vibe. Seeing as every cool band in the world plays there, show reviews will be plenty, too.
I love Nashville. And I love my family and friends here. This will always be my home and I will miss it dearly. But it's time for a change. And it's time for me to follow my dreams in the music biz. So, if any of you happen to have any contacts out there, let me know. I'm on a mad hunt for a job.
Now, if the earthquakes can just go easy on me and no tsunamis, things should work out just fine. 95% excited beyond belief. 5% absolutely terrified.
Jag is having a big shindig for me on the 17th, if you're interested. Should be fab. Last time I checked, half of Nashville will be attending. Okay maybe not half, but a bunch of familiar faces will be there, guaranteed.
Twenty-seven more days and counting...

Jill,
I am glad to hear of your decision, but part of me is sad that you have to go so far away.
Best of luck!
Michael

Here's a tip for you when you go to L.A.
Don't get desperate and start working in the mall. We've met some freakin' weirdos working in the mall, (namely each other...) and I don't think the level of crazy would go down in California. Save some couch space for your cousins when we need a vacation. Love Ya!!!

I'll have to agree with the anonymous poster. You'll never regret this decision, no matter how tough it is to start. Without a doubt, you would regret not making this move.

Happy moving! You'll love it there - I would move to CA in a heartbeat if I could - great weather, wonderful people, and fabulous food. Ditto - you'll never regret the move. I wish you all the best of luck!

Well, it's only taken me 15 years to run her off. She's guaranteed to be back in town in May, so plan accordingly.
Whoa...this shindig seems to be getting bigger and bigger. I may have to take Roboto up on his offer, since I have limited bathroom space.

JAG: If you're concerned about space, email me (mrroboto-at-thursdaynightfever.com) and we go over some non-JAG-house options.

Great idea, especially since it's one of my favorite venues.
Too bad 95% of my friends aren't show-goers. Nice try.

Don't even know you 'cept through this little blog here, but I am very excited for you to move to L.A. It was always a dream of mine, but I'm attached to the midwest with a big ball and chain (not referring to my husband).
Best of luck and if you need any leads on music jobs, I might (might) be able to help out!
