A New Beginning (The Abridged Version)

It's been so long and I have so much to say that I don't even know where to begin...

I'll start by wishing everyone a very Happy New Year. Last year was a bit crazy and full of hard core changes of every kind. (insert 5,000 words here) Good times and bad, I was ready for a fresh start. And after a long visit to Michigan to be with my family and a road trip to celebrate New Years in my hometown of Nashville, refreshed is my current state of mind.

I finally feel back on track with my life. I've caught my breathe that LA had taken away from me for so long. Stella's back. And ready to conquer yet again.

Secondly, it's just over two years since She Said What?!? was born. Crazy how time flies. And how things change. I look back at all the things I wrote, remembering them as if they happened just yesterday. Yet I read them, reflecting on how different (much busier) my life has become, and smile at all my happy (and crazy and wild) memories. And I'm looking forward to making many more.

We all make New Years resolutions...and they usually involve dieting, working harder, writing more...whatever the case may be. This year, if I can get through with a positive attitude, a generally overall happy (and non-stressed) demeanor and give myself more grace than I have in the past, I get an A+ come December. Anything else that follows is just an added bonus.

So cheers to a FABULOUS 2007. May all your dreams come true. I plan to continue checking mine [dreams] off my list that just keeps on getting shorter.

Re: One Year Anniversary

So it's been one whole year now since the birth of She Said What?!? I'd have to say it was a Pretty Good Year, in the words of one of my greats, Tori Amos.

Who knew that one day I would actually know a little bit of html? A little bit of design? A little bit of blog? A little bit of Roboto? See folks, it's not just all fun and games, it's also an educational experience.

Without SSW, there would be no I'm About to Be Brilliant, no (insert name here), no Concrete Seconds, no Yeah, Whatever, no Just Venti, and maybe even no A Chef's Lament. (Note: Clicking on the links provided will show you who the troopers who stuck with it are.)

Without SSW, I would have never met some of the awesome people that I have. I would've never had the sheer pleasure of attending actual blogger parties.

You probably note the slight sarcasm here, only because I can't help myself. Also, it helps take away from the cheesiness of my sincerity. I'm serious, guys. I'm glad I did this. And I'm glad I got the chance to meet and get to know so many of you before I made the trek to the West Coast. Irony? I think not.

At any rate, the offices of SSW have been a bit crazy over the past few months due to technical difficulties, financial issues, and social distractions. Once things finish wrapping over these next few weeks of the New Year, things should get cookin' and back to normal.

So on behalf of the SSW staff, I appreciate all of you five who read the site, yet check it often so it looks like I have more readers than I do. Thank you for your continued support!
